Laboratory Facility

  • Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education & Research (RIVER) has recently established a new molecular technique facility equipped with advanced model instruments in PCR / Real-time PCR, Gas Chromatography, Computer-assisted semen analyzer, Photomicrographic unit, Electrophoretic apparatus, Gel documentation system, UV spectrophotometers, Bioinformatics tools, etc. at the Centre for Translational Research -cum- Central Instrumentation Facility, RIVER, Puducherry.
  • The facility conducts regular training programmes aimed at providing systematic knowledge on various aspects of molecular techniques for research, troubleshooting, and familiarization with the facilities at CTR-cum-CIF, RIVER.
  • The entire facility and training programmes organized at this facility are coordinated by highly qualified professionals with research/teaching experience in molecular techniques.

Services Provided

a) Training:

  • The Department is also engaged in extension activities by way of participating in the training programme for farmers and school children.
  • Exposure to different herbs available in the herbal garden, which is maintained by the department.
  • Participation in the Farm Fest

b) Sales:

  • Sale of saplings of herbal plants
